I agree and disagree. What I feel you are trying to say (and many of us who have been in the industry more than 15 years often agree) is that we need more generalists and less specialists. That much I can agree on, as a generalist who can do research, ideation, prototyping and design is much more valuable to me than not. Where I disagree is calling it design. The lack of understanding between UX and UI from the business and client side is still a major problem in most of the industry. “Design” immediately creates connotations and denotations that are misleading. This negative effect can be catastrophic to teams, projects and the end user. This too, has been an issue in the industry for as long as UX has been a “thing.” — Nice read overall. Thanks!
